CHANGES: For the past two years, BACGD, as an organization, has marched in the Milwaukee Pride Parade. After much discussion and planning, a decision has been made to not march in the Milwaukee Pride parade but move our organizational presence to the nearby Pride Promenade in Appleton.
INSTEAD: BACGD invites members of the trans community, families, friends and allies of all ages to dress up in pink, blue, and white and “promenade” behind the BACGD parade banner as part of the Fox Valley Pride celebration in Appleton on June 21. Gather at Lawrence University lawn at 11:15. We promenade at 12:00 noon down College Ave to Houdini Plaza and then enjoy the festivities at Houdini Plaza and Jones Park. You can see the full schedule of activities for all ages and meet up spots in downtown Appleton at this link. Be sure to scroll down their page to note some helpful guidelines provided by the organizers. OPTION: The Wisconsin ACLU has an open invite to anyone of any age interested in marching in the June 8 Milwaukee Pride Parade. Details and sign up can be found here. Parents/Teens -- check out the advocacy training opportunities tailored to Wisconsin based teenagers -- meet others from throughout our state interested in protecting the rights of teens.
