This past January 3rd, then president Joe Biden honored two LGBTQ+ activists with Presidential Citizen Medals, the second highest level of honor for Americans. This award, established by President Richard Nixon in 1969, is awarded to United States citizens who have performed exemplary deeds or services for our country and fellow citizens.
