The October 12th Trans Community & Allies Summit was a big success! Twenty-one trans persons, allies, and “accomplices” gathered. The group spent time getting to know one other (built community) and then worked together to affirm the positive impacts of BACGD including how the Council provides a variety of welcoming and inclusive activities for a variety of ages, safe spaces, action-oriented outreach and advocacy, support and resources, and connections/networking. Future ideas generated included designing additional ways to include allies, consideration of hiring staff, finding a physical place for activities, non-bar related activities, more community impact and involvement, and more.
