Connection as a Key to Happiness

Every year, the World Happiness Report is published by the Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford/England, in partnership with Gallup, the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network and an independent editorial board.

In this year’s Report 2025, we find a focus on the impact of connection on the levels of people's happiness -- caring and sharing with one another. Like ‘mercy’ described in Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice, caring is “twice-blessed” – it blesses those who give and those who receive.

In the report, both these effects are investigated: the benefits of receiving care and the benefits experienced by those caring for others. Such a win-win! Do connect with us at the BACGD events.
